Tetiana Bersheda is a dual-qualified lawyer with over 15 years of experience in international arbitration and cross-border dispute resolution. She is the founding partner of Bersheda Law, a boutique practice focused on complex commercial disputes, private client matters and international enforcement strategy. She is admitted to practise in Switzerland and in England & Wales.
In the field of international commercial arbitration, Tetiana regularly appears as counsel and arbitrator across a broad range of institutional and ad hoc proceedings. Additionally, Tetiana acts as counsel in complex, cross-border disputes, including high-stakes divorces, inheritance matters, trusts and banking disputes. She is also widely recognised for her expertise in the enforcement of arbitral awards, including asset freezing and enforcement under the New York Convention.
Tetiana regularly sits in arbitrations involving international contract, corporate and construction disputes, including matters with links to Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the US.
Tetiana has acted in over 20 arbitration proceedings, including under ICC, Swiss Rules, UNCITRAL and ICAC-MKAS (Ukraine). She is regularly appointed as arbitrator and is included on the lists of several arbitral institutions. Tetiana is a member of the Swiss Arbitration Centre, the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), ICC National Committee Switzerland, the Ukrainian Arbitration Association (UAA), the Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration (VCCA), the Association Française d’Arbitrage (AFA), and the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC), and is included on SIAC’s List of Rising Arbitrators.
Tetiana has served as sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator and secretary to tribunals chaired by leading figures such as Prof. Pierre Tercier, Dr. Laurent Lévy and Prof. Gabrielle Kaufmann-Kohler.
Tetiana holds a PhD in law summa cum laude from the University of Fribourg and an LL.M. from the University of Cambridge. She previously taught company law at the University of Geneva’s Faculty of Economics and has published widely in Swiss and international journals on arbitration, company law, banking and insolvency.
